Renantis opens an office in Palermo, Italy
500+ MW of solar and wind power being developed in Sicily for investments exceeding 500 million EUR
1 June 2023 – Renantis is opening an office in Palermo, Sicily, at Via Cerda 19.
The decision stems from the desire to be closer to the local community in a region where Renantis is developing agrivoltaic and wind power projects.
In Sicily, the Group has projects over 500 MW of projects under development, with an investment exceeding 500 million EUR. Of this, more than 300 million EUR will be committed as early as 2023, when authorisation for the first projects are scheduled to be completed. To date, there are four Renantis plants operational in Sicily – one wind farm and three photovoltaic plants (Petralia Sottana, Sugherotorto-Vittoria, Spinasanta-Catania, Cardonita-Centuripe) – production around 58 GWh annually, equal to the consumption of around 14,500 households.
“Sharing value locally is at the heart of our sustainable approach and our way of doing business,” explains Carlo Gargano, Head of Development Sicily at Renantis. “Our new headquarters is designed to facilitate meetings with local communities in this new phase of advanced development of our projects. Being closer to our stakeholders will enable us to create a shared and valuable dialogue with the place, people, businesses and local administrations that will accompany us on our path as protagonists in the energy transition.”
