Nadara acquires France-based wind services specialist Talveg
In January, Nadara completed the acquisition of France-based independent service provider (ISP) Talveg, further strengthening the company’s in-house capabilities in wind turbine maintenance and operations.
Founded in 2020, Talveg delivered specialist services to the wind sector, including major component replacements, up-tower repairs, incident management, performance audits, drone inspections and support for operators preparing to bring maintenance activities in-house.
The acquisition brings 20 experienced turbine maintenance specialists into Nadara’s expanding Asset Maintenance team and enhances the company’s operational capabilities across its European portfolio.
Talveg’s relationship with Nadara began in 2023, when Nadara began searching for a new maintenance partner for assets in Belgium and France following a change in its asset management supplier. At the same time, the company was exploring options to progressively internalise operations and maintenance (O&M).
Working closely with Nadara’s teams, Talveg quickly demonstrated the impact of its expertise. On some sites, turbine availability increased from around 60% to 95%, providing clear evidence of the value the team could bring if integrated within Nadara’s operations.
“Talveg was a perfect fit,” says Bernardo Pinheiro, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions and Growth Business Programme at Nadara. “They had the capabilities, a highly skilled team already in place, and strong familiarity with our wind farms. That allowed us to accelerate our journey towards internalising O&M.”
The acquisition forms part of Nadara’s broader strategy to strengthen operational excellence across its portfolio. By bringing asset maintenance fully in-house, the company aims to unlock additional value, retain operational knowledge and data, and maintain closer control over performance, risks and long-term opportunities.
“Bringing maintenance in-house aligns strongly with our long-term approach,” adds Pinheiro. “As a long-term investor in renewable energy, the benefits compound over time, from knowledge retention and operational efficiency to improved risk management.
“At the same time, the cost of maintaining ageing assets is increasing as manufacturers adjust their service pricing. For operators intending to run wind farms well beyond the typical 15-20 year period, maintaining cost discipline and operational flexibility becomes essential, particularly in a context of declining energy prices.”
Now part of Nadara’s Asset Maintenance team, Talveg’s specialists will continue supporting turbines they already know well across Belgium and France, while also contributing their expertise to projects and assets across Nadara’s wider European and UK portfolio.
