Lambrigg Repower & Extension
We are exploring the potential to repower and extend Lambrigg Wind Farm. We would propose to decommission and remove the existing turbines and thereafter erect 7 new turbines up to 200m to tip. This could deliver an uplift in capacity from 6.5MW to ~42MW of renewable electricity - strengthening the UK’s energy security and contributing to our green power future.
Project Proposal:
7 new turbines
Up to 180-200m tip height
Up to 42MW capacity.
Project timeline

Local impact
Lambrigg Wind Farm has been operating since September 2000. In that time, it has delivered a range of local opportunities for the regional supply chain and the community.
Community Benefit
If consented, Lambrigg Repowering and Extension, would create a community benefit fund of up to £210,000 each year – totalling over £7 million across the projects anticipated 35-year lifespan.
Community ownership
We want to work with the local community and explore the potential to provide community ownership.
At several of our wind farms we have co-operatives which enable people to buy a stake in their local wind farm.

Supply chain
We are proud to be a Partner Member of the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, helping us maintain strong connections with the local business community and support economic growth across the region.
We are interested in engaging with businesses from across the local area that may have the skills, services or expertise to support the project through all stages.
